After a long morning waiting and trying to get in touch with a tour bus that never came (to Tiwanaku- ancient civilization that pre-dates the Incans), I decided to visit Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon) instead. It’s just on the southern suburb of La Paz and has lots of interesting rock formations. Pinnacles of rock look like rows of fingers stretching out of the ground, and seasonal rains continuously carve out new formations and canyons because actually clay makes up a large part of the mountain. They call it Valley of the Moon because apparently the moon looks like this as well.
